With sold-out stadiums and million-dollar profits, the WWE professional wrestling league boasts numbers closer and closer to major sports in the United States, such as baseball, basketball, and American soccer.
Punches and kicks are rehearsed like actual dance moves. The screams are exaggerated, and the results are matched. But despite being an act, WWE delivers everything it promises: a unique experience in sports entertainment.
The fights drive the audience to the roof. The thousands of fans present at the show screamed, jumped, and even cried during the victory or defeat of their favorite fighter. All of this was set to pyrotechnics, a gigantic stage, and other theatrical elements to please the fans.
In the end, most of the matches boil down to a straightforward plot. A good fighter faces an evil one, but the good athlete is not always the fans' favorite.
Finally, after a series of "wasted" chances, one of them gets the better of the other after leading the other to exhaustion.
It is worth mentioning that the combats demand very high technical level movements from the fighters, including acrobatics, and blows originated from other modalities, such as boxing and jiu-jitsu, for example.
Another fun element is the dirty games that some wrestlers use to win, such as the traditional metal chair slams!
