The strategy was to fight Spidey one at a time in a specific location that would be prepared to amplify the powers of each of the combatants.
The idea was to weaken the hero with each fight and decrease his chances of victory. The group kidnaps Betty Brant to lure Spider-Man to begin the plan.
Thus begins fights with Electro in a power plant, Kraven in a field where there were jaguars, Mysterio in a building full of illusion machines, Sandman in a sealed metal cell, and the Vulture in the air.
After defeating them all, Peter Parker reaches his final destination, where he fights Doctor Octopus in a water tank. Defeating the last Sinister, he rescues Betty Brant and also Aunt May, who was also taken by chance.
