Only read this text if you are willing to dig into SPOILERS before you rush to the theaters or HBO Max to watch Suicide Squad. Then don’t say wI didn’t warn you!
The film’s violent approach is pretty straightforward, even more so with director James Gunn giving signs that he would stuff many characters into a body bag. So it’s time to find out who didn’t make it!
All deaths in Suicide Squad
Right at the start, a team from The Suicide Squad shows up storming a beach in Corto Maltese, and, well, Blackguard (Pete Davidson) doesn’t survive the attacks – not even secretly being a double agent.
The alien warrior Mongal (Mayling Ng) manages to bring down a helicopter – the crash was so brutal that she burned to death.
Javelin (the naked Flula Borg) was one of the victims of the same initial fight and died alongside Harley Quinn (Margot Robbie) after being stabbed in the chest. He left the gun that gives his name as his “inheritance” to her. However, he barely returned and is gone.
Finally, Captain Boomerang (Jai Courtney) returned from the 2016 – but, besides having an almost irrelevant role – he was stabbed in the face with shrapnel from the downed helicopter, and worse: he ended up being cut in half by a blade from the aircraft.
The most creative and moving death is of TDK (Nathan Fillion), who received a shot that backfired. He was left flailing around, agonizing to death. How distressing…
Savant (Michael Rooker) tried to escape from the chaotic battle, but to no avail – as he tried to swim away, Amanda Waller (Viola Davis) activated the bomb in his neck, and his head was blown off.
A little later in the film, the Maltese courtier dictator Silvio Luna (Juan Diego Botto) tried a romantic involvement with Harley. It worked well for a while. But she ended up preferring to put an end to it right away by shooting him in the chest when she discovered he was a tyrant – bold as she is, she even gave him a monologue about how she deserves a more human love.
On the way to Jotunheim, there was Milton (Julio Ruiz) – an escape pilot from Corto Maltese’s Resistance – who lasted long enough for the region to be overrun by army soldiers and end up getting killed during the crossfire. The sad thing is that no villain recognized him…
The Thinker (Peter Capaldi) seemed to be a great ally of the new Squadron but ended up articulating his own death at the hands of Starro – who took revenge by literally tearing the guy’s limbs apart with his tentacles.
After discovering the truth about Project Starfish, Rick Flag (Joel Kinnaman) copied the files onto a hard drive. It automatically went into the crosshairs of the Peacemaker (John Cena), which caused a brutal fight and eventually died from a stab wound to the heart.
In an attempt by Starro to control everyones’ mind of anyone, military general Mateo Suarez (Joaquin Cosio) was killed in the fight.
The surviving members still dared to fight Starro. However, Polka-Dot Man was apprehensive about using his powers. Still, anger for his mother motivated him – not enough, as he was crushed by Starro’s leg…
Finally, the giant responsible for the massacres was defeated. It was Starro’s turn to die when Harley stabbed him in the eye with her dart, and the little friends of Ratslayer 2 (Daniela Melchior) devoured him by his nerves and blood vessels.
