! Ad Icons: Kelloggs - Smaxey The Seal (Sugar Smack's Seal) ! Vinyl Figure Virtual FunKon 2021 - Funko Shop Shared Exclusive will be available at 6 AM PST on August 5th, in-store and online. It all began in 1953 when Kellogg launched a new puffed wheat cereal called Sugar Smacks and decided to have several clowns act as spokespeople for the brand. Since the product was aimed at children, the idea was to place figures attractive to kids at the front of the banner, but it didn't work out. Therefore, in 1957, the brand decided to follow in the footsteps of its competitors, who used cartoon characters as advertising and introduced Smaxey the Seal, a mammal dressed as a sailor whose relationship with cereals is still unclear.
