He moves to Gotham to become a vigilante, but Batman discourages the initiative after realizing that Durlin doesn't care about protecting people. Disillusioned but willing to become someone important, he turns his internet skills into a lucrative blackmail business. In a Birds of Prey story, he tortures Black Canary to try to discover Batman's identity.
