Emperor's New Groove (2000) could be described as atypical within the Walt Disney universe since Kuzco -its young protagonist- is a despicable monarch, most egomaniacal, and arrogant.
Therefore, it is difficult to empathize with him, and his villain is not so evil in the film's early stages.
Yzma, who starts as an advisor despite her longing to reach the throne, is later disowned by the regent. Together with her goofy bodyguard Kronk, they form a duo that provides some of the funniest moments in the film directed by Mark Dindal (Chicken Little).
Like many of the factory's villains, Yzma hatches a plan to get revenge on the story's protagonist, who ultimately intends to end her life and take her place in society.
She is a character who does not hesitate to take whatever licenses are in her hand to achieve her goal and abuses her bodyguard's innocence to manipulate him like a puppet throughout the story.
She is an aging, power-hungry witch who has worked for many generations of the royal family and feels betrayed when Kuzco gets rid of her.
