Hawkeye Season 1 is set to arrive in November of this year. Will Clint Barton’s series gain enough attention to return for a second year? According to Geekosity, it looks like it will.
Clinton Out, Kate In
The site reported that actress Hailee Steinfeld would be the main focus of the series’ second season. The first season should be concerned with explaining Clint Barton‘s fate after the events of Avengers: Endgame, as well as officially passing the bow and arrow to Kate Bishop.
Even though season 1 has yet to be released, the second is already in development and will feature an even broader story for the Marvel newcomer. The first season will be inspired by Matt Fraction‘s script, but we don’t have the same information for the second season yet.
The series will also feature the return of Yelena Belova (Florence Pugh), as seen at the end of Black Widow. Natasha’s sister believes that Barton was responsible for her sister’s death and will seek revenge. We don’t know how the introduction will be done, but even David Harbour (Red Guardian) has already commented that he would like to fight Hawkeye.
The biggest inspiration for the script for the second season will be Hawkeye: Kate Bishop comics, but that has not been confirmed officially by Marvel. The comic was released in 2016-2018 and was all written by Kelly Thompson and drawn by Leonardo Romero.
In the story, Kate still works with her mentor, Barton, creating a direct teacher/student relationship. They continue to develop a competitive tale with each other, showing Kate the true mission she will have in the future: to become the next Hawkeye.
Hawkeye premieres on Disney on November 24, 2021.
