Hocus Pocus 2 Cast Confirmed and New Official Logo Revealed

The spells are already being conjured up for the very near future! The sequel to Hocus Pocus has already secured the first names and new director.

A classic for Halloween marathons, Hocus Pocus, is finally getting its long-awaited sequel, and it has already ensured that the ‘spooky’ trio of witches are back for new spells and misadventures.

The sequel, which for now is just titled Hocus Pocus 2, will once again reunite Bette Middler, Sarah Jessica Parker, and Kathy Najimy as the fun-loving Sanderson sisters, playing Winifred, Sarah, and Mary, respectively.

Hocus Pocus 2 will come to our screens again through Disney’s ‘hands’ and is already scheduled to premiere in 2022 via the Disney+ streaming platform.

The new story will take place in the present when three young women accidentally bring the Sanderson sisters back to life in modern-day Salem. After they return, the challenge will be to figure out a way to stop the witches from spreading chaos and continuing to chase the hunger for children.

Production on Hocus Pocus 2 will begin this fall, with Anne Fletcher (“The Proposal” and “27 Dresses”) directing. Lynn Harris (“The Shallows”) will be producer, and Adam Shankman (“Hairspray”), who is already working with Disney+ on “Disenchanted,” will also be the executive producer on the sequel.

Shankman was the first name listed to take on this new project, but his multiple commitments led him to put this one aside, passing it on to Fletcher but assuring that he will remain involved in the project.

For Fletcher, the film is a good challenge and an honor to work on,

Now more than ever, people need to laugh. We should be laughing every day, and there is so much fun to be had with these three unbelievable women playing delicious characters from such a beloved film,” says director Anne Fletcher.

“I am so grateful to be able to play a part in bringing these witches back to life, and to be working with my friends at Disney again makes it all the more special. This is a movie for everyone, from the fans who grew up with the first film to the next generation of viewers, and I can’t wait to get started.”

For now, there is no indication yet of any new names to join the cast.

Disney+ made the announcement today by releasing the image with messages from each of the actresses. Check it out below:
