I Am Groot is one of the new Marvel Studios television animated series announced during the Disney Investor Day 2020, which will premiere exclusively on the Disney+ streaming service.
The next adventure centered on the most popular member of the Guardians of the Galaxy will feature a distinctive style. From a visual point of view, it will explore a different territory and move away from the animation style of What if…? and other animations known to date.
The I am Groot series will use a photo-real type of animation.
This was revealed to Variety by Brad Winderbaum, the Head of Streaming, Television, and Animation at Marvel Studios and executive producer of the Black Widow movie.
“Marvel Studios already has “multiple” animated series “in various phases of development” for Disney Plus, on top of a second season for “What If…?” and a series of “photo-real” animated shorts centered on Baby Groot that are both already in production.”
Photo-real animation is usually applied to design many video games to provide users with a more realistic experience.
I Am Groot will focus on “Baby Groot,” one of UCM’s most charismatic characters, and introduce new characters, so it is understood that the events would occur before Groot becomes a teenager in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2.
