Loki: Jonathan Majors Talks About The Differences Between Kang and He Who Remains

The Loki final episode brought the surprise presence of He Who Remains, played by none other than Jonathan Majors.

The actor had already been cast to play the villain Kang the Conqueror, who is expected to make his debut in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, and spoke about the difference between the two variants of the same being he plays in the MCU.

Majors spoke about the major differences between Kang and He Who Remains during an appearance in a mini-documentary about Loki behind-the-scenes, available on Disney+. Since we only know the latter so far, the actor gives us a contrast regarding Kang.

I think with He Who Remains, the objective for me was to give me the largest canvas possible,” he said. “From that, as Kang begins to rear his head and do his deeds, in many ways, he has no choice but to be in opposition or be different from He Who Remains. That was the thing that grabbed me and pulled me into the role. Kang lives in so many iterations as He Who Remains says: ‘Reincarnation, baby,'” he said.

The actor also explained how He Who Remains is a construct, made from costumes from various eras and well-known archetypes, such as the wizard and the trickster, as well as Loki himself.
