One of Britain’s most celebrated songwriters, musician, writer, and peace activist, John Winston Lennon, better known as John Lennon, was born on October 9, 1940, in Liverpool, United Kingdom. He is considered one of the greatest idols of the 20th century.

John was inspired by the rock and roll of Elvis Presley and Chuck Berry. Among the compositions by this icon of the music scene are Help!, Strawberry Fields Forever, and All You Need Is Love, while he was in the Beatles, and Imagine, Happy Xmas, Woman, among others, created after he broke up with his former band.

He became so famous that in 2002 he was listed as one of the 100 most important British Britons of all time, ranked eighth in a survey sponsored by the BBC.
