Venomverse, by Cullen Bunn e Iban Coello, was initially published in 2017, and in it, Doctor Strange invokes different versions of the symbiote to face the Poisons, an alien race that basically is the natural predator of the Klyntar (the race to which Venom belongs) and threatens to massacre the Marvel universe, so the Sorcerer Supreme will have to gather heroes, villains and anyone who wants to join the resistance.
The Poisons are creatures that feed on heroes linked to symbiotes, which permanently transforms the host and the symbiote into one of them.
Spider-Man fell victim to the Poisons, and therein lies the inspiration for Funko's new Venomized Pop figure.

This Venomverse mini-series tells how Eddie Brock and his symbiote are transported to a devastated world where they meet versions of other heroes and villains with their own symbiotes, different versions of Venom: Captain America, Black Panther, Rocket Raccoon, Ant-Man, Spider-man, Doctor Strange... all gathered under the same flag, forging an uneasy alliance to prevent creatures called the Poisons from devouring them.
Eddie and his new allies must join forces and discover what is hidden behind the Poisons' hunt and how what they do in this last battle could define the future of the multiple realities of the Marvel Universe.
