2022 NEW Hamilton – King George Funko Pop! Walmart Collector Con 2022
The comic relief to the hottest musical on Broadway, King George steals the scene and our shelves with this new Funko POP Broadway: Hamilton – King George Funko Pop! Vinyl Figure – Walmart Collector Con 2022 Exclusive in his full royal regalia, including crown, cape, and scepter.
Premiering Off-Broadway in 2015, Hamilton received critical and commercial success unprecedented in recent musical theater history.
The play tells the story of one of America’s founding fathers, Alexander Hamilton. Lin-Manuel Miranda said he was inspired to write the musical after reading the biography of Alexander Hamilton written by Ron Chernow in 2004.
The musical styles are not the most traditional either: the story is guided by songs in hip-hop, R&B, and Soul genres. In addition, the cast is predominantly of Afro-American actors – who, in an ironic twist, play racist white historical characters. Hamilton is a story of America’s past, told by America now.
From the Walmart Collector Con 2022, the exclusive Hamilton – King George Funko is now available for pre-order at the links below (click to jump!) It’s expected to be released in May 2022.
Despite being a historically significant figure and a highly billed character, King George III is removed from the main events of Hamilton, as he has no direct interactions with any of the other characters.
Instead, all of his songs are comedic solos with lines reflecting on events from afar and expressing his bewildered disbelief at the massive changes taking place in the colonies and, later, in the United States.
Unlike other actors playing multiple characters, the monarch of England’s revolutionary era is traditionally played by one actor with no different roles.
In a musical so saturated with verbal wit, King George III is the character most clearly intended for broad comic relief.
