Beast Kingdom: Star Wars: The Mandalorian and The Child Duo EAA-111 Action Figure Set

The fifth episode of the Mandalorian second season revealed Baby Yoda’s real name and past, or at least part of it. The child that the Mandalorian was hired to capture, but went on to protect, is named Grogu.

The one who reveals the information is Ahsoka Tano, a Jedi who was padawan to Anakin Skywalker, an old acquaintance to fans of the animated series The Clone Wars and Star Wars Rebels.

Mando finds her on the planet Corvus intending to deliver the child into her care. She then connects with the little being through the Force and reveals that Grogu was trained at the Jedi Temple on Coruscant by many masters and that someone saved him from the Great Purge when Anakin massacred Jedis and apprentices.

From then on, Grogu had to distance himself from the Force to survive, and his memories become dim, filled with fear and loneliness. Tano also says that he has only met one other being like him, the great master Yoda.
