Max Dennison is a teenager who has just moved with his family to Salem. There is a local legend about three sisters who have been prosecuted for witchcraft.
On the night of October 31, Max is forced to accompany his sister, Dani, to get candy. On the way, they meet Allison, Max's classmate, whose family takes care of the Anderson sisters' house, now a museum.
Making fun of the legend, Max accidentally brings back the witches and will have to stop them with the help of a talking black cat.
Bette Midler, Sarah Jessica Parker, and Kathy Najimy are the stars of this fantastic Halloween comedy. They play three witches, the Sanderson sisters, who 300 years ago in Salem were tried and executed for witchcraft, and come back to life on Halloween because of the recklessness of a couple of teenagers.
The three witches have only one night to become flesh and blood again, and they want to take revenge on the townspeople for what was done to them three centuries ago.
And the kids responsible for their reappearance, helped by an immortal cat, have to do everything to make sure that this doesn't happen and that the trio goes back to where they came from and never appears again.
The good thing for them is that these witches are a bit clumsy and not very smart.
