Funko Pop! Disney: The Rocketeer – Rocketeer Flying – FunKon 2021

Funko Pop! Disney: The Rocketeer – Rocketeer Flying Funko Pop! Vinyl Figure Virtual FunKon 2021 – Funko Shop Shared Exclusive will be available in-store and online at 6 AM PST on August 5th.

The Rocketeer is a character created in 1982 by illustrator Dave Stevens. His adventures, set between the 1930s and 1940s, were about Cliff Secord, a pilot who discovers a jet-pack that allows him to fly.

The comic is highly valued for its retro style and nostalgic atmosphere, very well set in the cities of New York and Los Angeles at that time.

Cliff Secord is a young test pilot whose life changes drastically when he finds a rocket pack in the hangar where he works. The device is the invention of Doc Savage, the legendary pulp hero, although, for legal reasons, his name is never mentioned.

Stolen from a laboratory, the thieves, Nazi spies sent by the Reich to sabotage and steal possible weapons developed by the Americans, hide the rocket in the hangar where Cliff works while trying to flee from their pursuers.

Not knowing the origin of the fantastic machine, Cliff tests it and is baptized by the press as The Rocketeer after using it in public.

Once the spies are caught, and the origin of the rocket is revealed, Doc Savage considers that Cliff put it to proper use, so he allows him to keep it as long as he continues to use it for good.
