T’Challa is one of more than 20 classic MCU characters confirmed in What If…? The first MCU animated series will bring alternate versions of the events of all the Marvel movies so far. So, in addition to a Peggy Carter taking the Super Soldier Serum, we also have T’Challa (Black Panther) as Star-Lord!
It all happens after Yondu travels to Wakanda instead of the United States, and Peter Quill’s kidnapping does not occur. Instead, Yondu kidnaps T’Challa.

Producer Brad Winderbaum revealed a week ago some of the best news that nostalgic Chadwick Boseman fans could ever want. The actor behind Marvel’s Black Panther will appear in more than one episode of What If…? Boseman reprises the role of T’Challa, but not that of Black Panther. Instead, he will arrive as Star-Lord in four episodes.
The animated series will arrive on August 11, 2021, and will be Marvel’s first production in the animated format.
