The horrors of Funkoween 2021 continue as we dive into some scary stories. The terrifying Jaws, the blockbuster that made half the world afraid of water, arrived with the Funko Pop! Movie Moments: Jaws Funko Pop! Vinyl Figure – GameStop Exclusive.
The greatest classic of the genre, Steven Spielberg’s Jaws literally invented the idea of making a “monster movie,” in which the monster of the story is nothing less than a shark.
At the time of its release, Jaws became the highest-grossing film in the history of cinema, but it only held this position for two years, as in 1977 a certain Star Wars eventually overtook it.
Jaws Funko Pop! Movie Moments is a GameStop exclusive and is now available for pre-order at the links below. It’s expected to ship in August 2021.
Based on the book of the same name by Peter Benchley, the plot is set in the fictional town of Amity Island, whose beaches are being victimized by a huge white shark that can swallow entire boats, forcing the local police chief to team up with a marine biologist and a shark hunter to defeat the beast.
Years after Steven Spielberg’s original shark attacks, Sheriff Martin Brody finds new trouble lurking in the waters of Friendship Island. But, Mayor Vaughn wants to rid the seaside town of the stain on its reputation and goes ahead with a sailing competition, even after two divers go missing despite the sheriff’s warnings.
Everyone thinks the sheriff is just experiencing post-traumatic stress, but then a shark fin cuts through the waters. Shark 2 is a great sequel to the original film. Moreover, it is the only one of the Shark sequels to offer serious thrills with a believable plot.
