The extraterrestrial supervillain of the 2019 film, Brightburn, has arrived at Funkoween 2021. The infamous Funko Pop! Movies: Brightburn – Brandon Breyer Funko Pop! Vinyl Figure is now bringing terror to our homeland.
Instead of a golden boy destined to be the savior of humanity, Brandon Breyer (Jackson A. Dunn) sees himself as superior to those who tease and harm him – and so decides to don the cape to make sure the teasing stops.
Superheroes are often seen as representing the best of humanity; this differentiates them from anti-heroes and sets them apart from villains. A good example is Superman, the greatest comic book hero, who, although he is not human, synthesizes hope in goodness like no other, which doesn’t mean that he has only this face.
Over the more than 8 decades since his first appearance, the last son of Krypton has been presented in different ways. From the classic Superman: Red Son to his appearance in Frank Miller’s The Dark Knight, Superman has been a USA supersoldier and even a weapon of the Soviet Union.
But what would happen if, during his childhood, he had become an immoral being?
This is the premise of Brightburn, a film produced by James Gunn that puts a big “if” in the figure of Superman. In the plot, an alien child lands on a farm in the United States whose owners decide to raise the boy as their son.
As he begins to discover his powers, instead of becoming a hero to humanity, he begins to terrorize the small town he lives in, becoming a dark force on Earth.
