Inspired by the upcoming movie Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, Funko Pop! Movies: Shang-Chi – Death Dealer Pop! Vinyl Figure – GameStop Exclusive as just unveiled and is now for pre-order at the links below.
Death Dealer, the masked villain, made his Marvel universe debut in 1982 in the comic book Master of Kung Fu #115. The storyline, set in London, featured the character as an MI-6 agent named Li-Ching Lin.
The former agent had been removed from the corporation due to overly violent methods of action.
Also, Li-Ching was an undercover agent in the service of Fu Manchu (the character’s former name, which had to be changed due to copyright issues but is none other than Shang-Chi’s father).
In this same arc, Shang-Chi was summoned to hunt down Li-Ching.
The mission was troubled, and Li-Ching Lin ended up escaping back to the Mandarin‘s stronghold, which gave him the name Death Dealer and the traditional mask, weapons, and costume.
