During The Clone Wars, fans of the saga discovered Darth Maul had survived his duel with Obi-Wan Kenobi on Naboo during The Phantom Menace and was thirsting for revenge. Alongside his brother, Savage Opress, the two begin their counterattack, culminating with the two controlling Mandalore, the home planet of the Mandalorian warriors seen in The Mandalorian series. Maul claims the Darksaber for himself and establishes a despotic regime on Mandalore, aiming to grow and expand his conquests.
