Princess Leia Organa, the adopted daughter of Senator Organa, was the main pillar of the rebellion during the times of the Empire. The biological daughter of Anakin Skywalker and Senator Padme Amidala proved to be a brave, tenacious, and independent woman by embarking on adventures and dangerous missions.

And, of course, a little sarcastic, which I think every space princess should be (one must have good humor when dealing with scoundrels and ruffians). It should come as no surprise then that Princess Leia was one of my favorite Star Wars characters.

Since the premiere of the first Star Wars movie in 1977, Leia is remembered for being the princess fighter who took the side of the Rebel Alliance fighting the Empire.

Carrie Fisher, then 19 years old, would play a role that to this day is remembered for her striking hairstyles and an attitude that broke with the canons of the princesses of the movies of that time.

With all these traits, Darth Vader’s daughter, Luke Skywalker’s sister, Rebel Alliance spy, and general of the Resistance could not be less than a key character of the pop culture of the last decades.
