Funko Pop! What If…? – Zombie Hunter Spidey Metallic

Inspired by the What If a…? fifth episode of the TV Series, the Funko Pop! What If…? – Zombie Hunter Spidey Metallic Funko Pop! Vinyl Figure – Walmart Exclusive was released today.

Marvel Studios’ animated series What If…? has reached the halfway point of its first season and has decided to celebrate by adapting one of its most lauded alternate comic book realities: the zombie universe.

The fifth chapter follows a select group of heroes dealing with the undead infestation in Marvel’s Cinematic Universe. The episode was highly anticipated by fans, and at the risk of being more of the same, Marvel Studios has managed to find depth in a horde of brainless heroes!

The fifth episode of What If…? is based on Marvel Zombies, a miniseries released in 2005 by Marvel, set on Earth-2149. This reality was initially introduced in the Fantastic Four comics (later known as the Zombie Dimension).

The comic follows the few survivors facing the hordes of the dead, with zombified – and intelligent – versions of the publisher’s greatest heroes. The miniseries, which has gained four sequels and some derivatives, was written by Robert Kirkman, the creator of The Walking Dead.

The series episode does not adapt everything from the comic but instead borrows the premise and some elements to contextualize them within the MCU.
