The long-awaited second season of Netflix’s The Umbrella Academy dropped at the end of July, satiating fans with the fast-paced craziness that fans of the show were used to after the first season’s release in 2019.

The second season is based on the story of seven teenagers with extraordinary powers who were adopted by billionaire Sir Reginald Hargreeves and set them up to save the world.

This season, fans finally learned Pogo’s story, an anthropomorphic chimpanzee who can talk to humans and helped raise their children at Umbrella Academy.

In a flashback sequence, it is shown that Pogo was sent from the Congo to Cape Canaveral to be part of a program that forced primates into space flight tests.

Eventually, Pogo is sent on a flight mission and reported dead when brought back to base. But in a twist, Pogo is suddenly returned to life by a life-saving syringe administered by Sir Reginald Hargreeves and is adopted by the Hargreeves family.
