The new Spider-Man Marvel Legends 6-Inch Sandman Action Figure features Sandman in a retro carded piece in his normal human proportions in his iconic green striped shirt. Sandman is a special release but is not exclusive to any particular retailer.

Sandman appeared for the first time in The Amazing Spider-Man #4, signed by Steve Ditko and Stan Lee. William Baker, better known by his alias Flint Marko, was a criminal who escaped from prison and ended up in the middle of a nuclear test on a beach.

This event gave him his extraordinary powers. Marko can literally turn anything and any part of his body into a matter as thin as sand. In addition, he controls the shape of his body so that he can create weapons such as giant hammers with his limbs.

A massive dose of radiation bonds petty criminal William Baker’s body to sand, creating a massive threat to Spider-Man! The Spider-Man Marvel Legends 6-Inch Sandman Action Figure includes an alternate head and alternate sand weapon hands.

Sandman Action Figure from the Marvel Legends line is now available for pre-order at the links below (click to jump!) It’s priced at $22.99 and is expected to be released in October 2021.

In the classic The Amazing Spider-Man Annual #1, after being defeated in his first encounter against Spidey, Sandman allied with Doctor Octopus and other villains to form the group known as the Sinister Six. However, the villains’ confidence in their numerical superiority gave the advantage to the Spider-Man, who ended up defeating each of the six.

Sandman teamed up with another group of super-villains: The Frightful Four. Together with Medusa, Trapster, and the Wizard, the Sandman repeatedly attacked the Fantastic Four.

Thanks to the unexpected support he found in his old enemy The Thing, Sandman decided to start mending his ways. He helped Spidey fight against the Enforcers, and his good deeds led him to become a backup Avenger. So yes, just as you just read, Sandman was an Avengers member for a while (a short while)!
