Kawaki has become one of the main characters in Boruto. First appearing in the flashforward in the series' debut, Kawaki is a young man who would apparently become the nemesis of the series' main character, Boruto Uzumaki. Kawaki is one of the series's main villains whose alcoholic and abusive father sold him for a large sum of money to a man named Jigen, who took him to be part of his experiments aimed at transplanting karma as a curse; hence Kawaki became part of the Kara organization. Lately, things are a bit tense in the pages of Boruto after an intense battle that culminated in the apparent death of a leading character in the plot. But in addition to this significant twist, the manga also indicated that Kawaki's Karma might become more powerful. Apparently, the ninja can now channel the powers of Jigen, the Kara leader who Kawaki and Boruto defeated. Part of this is due to alterations that the young man's body is receiving at the hands of Amado, who seems to have a plan to expand his powers. Part of the new abilities that Kawaki can now take on includes accessing other dimensions and the power to shrink objects. There is still some concern that Jigen will attempt a resurrection using Kawaki's body as a receptacle, but at the moment, the ninja has more immediate problems to deal with.
