NEW Sinister Six Series: Doctor Octopus Funko Pop! Funko Fair 2022

The new Funko Pop! Deluxe Marvel: Sinister Six: Vulture – Amazon Exclusive was revealed today at Funko Fair 2022, featuring one of Spider-Man’s best-known villains in the comics, and one of the original members of the Sinister Six. 

The Sinister Six series is exclusive to Amazon and comprises 7 brand-new unique figures with bases that nest together to form a more extensive set display. Doctor Octopus was the first figure in the series. Vulture is the second.

The Funko Pop! Deluxe Marvel: Sinister Six – Vulture Funko Pop! Vinyl Figure – Amazon Exclusive (Marvel Sinister Six series – Figure 2 of 7) is available for pre-order at the links below (click to jump!) It’s expected to release on May 24, 2022.

The Sinister Six first appearance took place in 1964 in the annual Amazing Spider-Man comic book. The group is started by Doctor Octopus, who loses his tentacles after suffering two defeats against the New York hero, resulting in his imprisonment.

He manages to break free with his tentacles, and the villain escapes from prison. He then contacts every known villain who has ever faced Spider-Man, with only five responding: Electro, Mysterio, Sandman, Vulture, and Kraven the Hunter.

Despite coming together, forming the first incarnation of the Sextet, none of the villains wanted to share the honor of killing Spider-Man. Thus, they decided to challenge the hero one by one, choosing the order randomly. The group kidnaps Aunt May and Betty Brant to challenge him, using them as hostages to force the hero to fight them.

The plan, however, is not one of the brightest. With each facing the hero alone, Spider-Man manages to defeat all the members of the Sinister Sextet, one at a time. The story’s protagonist himself mocks the villains’ decision while fighting Octopus, the last of the six to be defeated. As a result, the group eventually splits up.
