Eagly is an original creation by James Gunn, who does not have a comic book counterpart. The Peacemaker's pet eagle is his best friend, as the trained animal is the perfect companion for the peace-loving character.
Eagly stole every scene in the HBO series Max. And now, Christopher Smith's pet eagle is stealing scenes in an entirely different medium as he becomes canon in the DC Comics.

Eagly has become canon in the pages of DC Comics. The Peacemaker's pet eagle will make his comic book debut in the publisher's newest Valentine's Day anthology.

Strange Love Adventures #1, Eagly makes a surprise appearance at the end of the Peacemaker story, when the anti-hero asks his pet eagle to be his girlfriend.
Created by James Gunn, 'Peacemaker' follows the eponymous character on a new mission in which he must deal with the infamous Project Butterfly.
The superhero series also sheds light on the anti-hero's background and upbringing, revealing important details that help us understand and empathize with his superficially arrogant and sometimes offensive personality.
One of those critical elements of Peacemaker's life is his pet bald eagle, Eagly.
