NEW The Witcher: Geralt de Rivia in Bathtub Funko Pop! Exclusive
The new Funko Pop! Deluxe: The Witcher – Geralt de Rivia in Bathtub Funko Pop! Deluxe Vinyl Figure – Exclusive recreates one of the great moments of the first season, involving Henry Cavill’s character and his private showering moments. The scene, which was supposed to be just like any other, caused quite a buzz among fans.
The bathtub scene was initially introduced in the opening of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt and soon became a meme. So when it was Netflix’s turn to create its own version of Andrzej Sapkowski’s masterpiece, the production included not just one such scene but two in the very first season. Apparently, it ended up there anyway.
Geralt de Rivia in Bathtub Funko Pop! is coming soon. No release date yet.
The Witcher introduces and follows the adventures of Geralt, a human who has mutated to become more adept at hunting monsters. It also follows Yennefer and the young princess Ciri.
The Netflix series is not Sapkowski’s first work-based adaptation. Polish game developer CD Projekt Red has successfully adapted The Witcher into three games, the most recent being 2015’s The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt.
The Netflix show is based on the books, not the games, but that hasn’t stopped Hissrich and the series’ directors from referencing specific aspects of CD Projekt Red’s titles. One such reference is Cavill’s Geralt in a bathtub, as first seen in the series trailer for The Witcher.
Even before the trailer glimpsed that particular scene from The Witcher in the full trailer, Hissrich made sure to point out a set in the bathtub for fans hoping that the scene from The Witcher 3 would be adapted into the Netflix series.
You may be wondering when exactly you might see Cavill’s Geralt de Rivia in a bathtub. In fact, there are two bathtub scenes in the first season of The Witcher.
The first comes in the fourth episode, “Of Banquets, Bastards and Burials,” at 5 minutes and 9 seconds. The second is in the fifth episode, “Bottled Appetites,” at 31 episodes and 15 seconds.
