“Rocket Power” enthusiasts can also add Otto and Reggie Rocket to their collections. And for a quirky twist, “The Ren & Stimpy Show” offers Ren and Stimpy in space suits.

What’s the Story Behind Nickelodeon Rewind?

Nickelodeon Rewind is a collection of DVDs, digital downloads, and merchandise from classic Nick shows that launched in 2005. It includes beloved shows like “Clarissa Explains It All” and “The Adventures of Pete & Pete” that originally captured viewers’ hearts in the 90s.

The brand had a strong start with the release of the first seasons of “Clarissa Explains It All” and “The Adventures of Pete & Pete” on DVD in May 2005, which led to more releases, including the second season of “Pete and Pete.” However, further releases planned for 2006 were unfortunately postponed.

In 2008, Nickelodeon collaborated with Amazon to create exclusive DVD sets available on demand, bringing more classic shows under the Nick Rewind umbrella. However, in 2009, the logo changed, and the DVDs started featuring the new Nickelodeon logo instead of the Nick Rewind banner.

Apart from DVDs, Nickelodeon also introduced the Nick Rewind TV block in 2006. This block was an hour of pure nostalgia with shows like “The Wild Thornberrys” and “Rocko’s Modern Life.” This block was a brief event, lasting until August of the same year.

In 2011, Nickelodeon launched “The ’90s Are All That” block on TeenNick, a revival of classic Nick content. The block evolved over the years, rebranding as The Splat, then NickSplat, and finally NickRewind in 2019, continuing the legacy of Nickelodeon’s golden era.
