Complete with glow-in-the-dark eyes and a light-up chest piece on the pocket, the applique detailing even lifts up to reveal a Pop! version of Robert Downey Jr as Iron Man.

Iron Man was one of the Marvel heroes who started the revolution in the world of comics. Along with Ant-Man, The Mighty Thor, The Wasp, and The Incredible Hulk, he founded The Avengers, establishing himself as a Marvel icon.

I’m referring, of course, to The Invincible Iron Man, an alias of the industrialist and scientist Tony Stark, a hero who in the movies is embodied by the charismatic and unrepeatable Robert Downey Jr.

If you’ve been following the movies since 2008 as I do, you’re sure to be an Iron Man fan!

That unmistakable touch, which would eventually be identified as “Marvel style,” is the key. That is, the character transcended the portrait of a single playboy, billionaire, and owner of a business group, developing human traits and weaknesses.

Tony Stark was first conceived as the owner of Stark Industries, a holding company dedicated primarily to the design and manufacture of military technology. To make it more interesting, Tony also had a technological genius. He’s certainly one of the sharpest minds in the Marvel Universe!

Tony was rich, intelligent, and handsome. But also a dead man living on borrowed time. The hero suffered a heart injury during a trip to a Southeast Asian nation. An accident with an explosive device lodged a metal shard in his chest. Only using a reactor and body armor would prevent the shrapnel from reaching his heart, causing his death.

Because of this trance, Stark became aware of the perverse use his technology was being put to. And so Tony became a hero, using the armor to survive and at the same time to fight evil in various forms.

To avoid the attention of the cameras, he maintained the concept of a secret identity. To the world, Iron Man was his bodyguard, a kind of specialist soldier hired to wear the armor. Eventually, this would change, and Stark would reveal the truth to the world.
