Superman: Michael B. Jordan is Working on a Val-Zod Series

Michael B. Jordan, known worldwide for his Black Panther and Creed performances, would be developing a live-action Superman miniseries.

According to Collider, the production, intended for HBO Max, will center on Val-Zod, a version of the Man of Steel from the so-called Earth-2. The project is being handled by Jordan and his production company, Outlier Society, and will not be related to the film produced by J.J. Abrams.

Outlier Society has already hired a screenwriter for the production. Jordan, who is preparing to make his directorial debut on Creed III, will be one of the leading producers, but his presence in the cast is not yet certain.

Val-Zod was created in 2014 by Tom Taylor (“The Suicide Squad,” “Nightwing”), Nicola Scott (“Birds of Prey”), and Robson Rocha (“Aquaman”) and first appeared in Earth-2 #19.

Like Kal-El, Val-Zod was sent to Earth by Jor-El to escape the destruction of Krypton and was rescued by Terry Sloan, who offered him shelter and protection in a secret room at Arkham Asylum. After defeating an evil clone of the original Superman – killed by the Steppenwolf – Val joins the new Wonders group as the new Superman of Earth-2.

Dwayne Johnson Confirms Quitting Fast and Furious Franchise

Luke Hobbs was an essential part of the Fast and Furious franchise, but according to Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, he should not return.

The character has been in three main films in the series and even starred in a spin-off, entitled Hobbs & Shaw, alongside Jason Statham. But it seems that this was “The Rock’s” swan song in the film series, after some disagreements with actor Vin Diesel.

Johnson spoke to The Hollywood Reporter, alongside Emily Blunt, promoting his new film, Jungle Cruise. Asked about Diesel’s recent statements, the actor refrained but made a point of confirming that he is out.

“I laughed and laughed hard. [upon learning of recent Vin Diesel allegations]. I think everyone had a laugh at that. And I’ll leave it at that. And that I’ve wished them well. I wish them well on Fast 9. And I wish them the best of luck on Fast 10 and Fast 11 and the rest of the Fast & Furious movies they do that will be without me.,” he said.

The quarrel between the two happened during the filming of the 8th film in 2017 and was never quite explained. “The Rock” made some claims at the time on his social media, and it has since been known that he and Diesel are on bad terms.

The Walking Dead Movie Teaser Released 2 Years Ago and No News Until Today

The first teaser trailer for The Walking Dead movie, which revealed the return of Rick Grimes, has just celebrated its 2nd anniversary. Since then, however, the production has never been heard again. To this day, fans are still waiting for news about the film.

The video released at the San Diego Comic-Com, eight months after Rick’s departure, shows a military helicopter from the Civic Republic flying over towards Philadelphia.

Previously, former showrunner Scott Gimple revealed to Talking Dead that it was indeed the end of Grimes in the franchise, but it was not the end of his story.

“We’re going to continue telling Rick Grimes’ story in a series of AMC original films. There’s a lot of story to tell.”

Meanwhile, co-founder and executive producer David Alpert said that filming had been suspended last year due to the Covid-19 pandemic. On the other hand, creator Robert Kirkman guaranteed that work was ongoing behind the scenes.

Although social isolation blocked numerous movie theaters last year, Gimple assured in December that The Walking Dead movie keeps the exclusive release for the big screen – meaning that Andrew could be back in Grimes’ shoes before the end of 2021.

Blade: Marvel is Selecting a Director for Mahershala Ali’s Movie

A new Blade movie was one of the most celebrated Marvel news announced at Comic-Con 2019, and the project seems to have started moving.

The film will be part of Phase 5 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. It will feature Mahershala Ali in the role of the vampire hunter, who was previously played by Wesley Snipes in a highly acclaimed trilogy in the early 2000s.

According to Deadline, Marvel Studios is in the final details of a deal with director Bassam Tariq, who was reportedly chosen after reviewing several hero film ideas.

Tariq and Marvel are close to a deal, which is already taken for granted by both parties involved and should be confirmed very soon.

No details have been revealed yet for the feature film, which promises to delve into the darker aspect of the Marvel universe.

There is also hope for new crossovers with Sony, as the studio has already worked on a vampire film Morbius, with Jared Leto in the lead role.

Star Wars: Mark Hamill Has Been in Every Star Wars Film Since 2015

Mark Hamill revealed on Twitter that he has appeared in every Star Wars film production since 2015 – even those in which his traditional character in the saga, Luke Skywalker, does not participate. This was possible, according to the actor, by working as a voice actor.

Last Wednesday (21), Hamill replied to a tweet from Wookiepedia, the virtual encyclopedia made by Star Wars fans, which pointed out that he had dubbed the android EV-9D9 in a The Mandalorian episode. The eternal Luke was quick to say that this was not the only “hidden” presence he had done.

“Did you know… I voiced multiple secret voice-cameos in every StarWars movie released since 2015? The sequels, Han Solo and Rogue One,” he wrote.

Some of these “secret characters” are not so secret. We know that Hamill is the voice of Dobbu Scay, an amphibious-looking alien gambler, in The Last Jedi; and that he was the Boolio resistance miner in The Rise of Skywalker.

Last year, Hamill even revealed what alias he used for these special appearances: William M. Patrick. The name, chosen after the actor’s two brothers (he has not, to this day, revealed where the “M.” comes from), appears under the “additional voices” credit in the Star Wars films in which Hamill is involved.

“It was never about having my name at the top of the credits, or about the paycheck. For me, it’s always been about the fun, about the fans, and simply because I love easter eggs!” he wrote at the time.

In the upcoming Netflix movie, Jason Momoa stars as a devoted father who decides to fight big pharma. Are you ready for an action-packed movie?

With a different antagonist than usual, Sweet Girl is the new Netflix action movie that promises to take Jason Momoa to extremes to avenge his wife’s death and protect his daughter.

Scripted by Gregg Hurwitz and Philip Eisner, Sweet Girl premieres on August 20 on the streaming platform, and the first trailer promises plenty of action and fights. This film marks the directorial debut of Brian Andrew Mendoza, who has done more producer work, including on Momoa projects like Frontier and Braven.

Ray Cooper, a man devoted to his family, vows to bring justice to the pharmaceutical company responsible for taking a potentially life-saving drug off the market just before his wife (Adria Arjona) dies of cancer. But when his quest for the truth results in a deadly encounter that puts Ray and his daughter, Rachel (Isabela Merced), in danger, Ray’s mission turns into a quest for revenge to protect the only family he has left.

Jason Momoa stars in the film and is joined by Justin Bartha (“National Treasure”), Amy Brenneman, Manuel Garcia-Rulfo, Raza Jaffrey, Lex Scott Davis, and Michael Raymond-James (“True Blood”), as well as Isabela Merced (“Transformers: The Last Knight”).

The film marks the actor’s Netflix debut and his return after Aquaman. Recall that the actor appeared in Dune, which won’t premiere until late 2021, and has been starring in See, the Apple Tv+ series that was recently renewed.

The last episode of Loki brought moments of extreme importance for the future of the MCU. And it may have brought a reference to the Fantastic Four, according to some more diligent fans.

While nothing has been confirmed, the moment, which takes place early on, seems to indicate that the upcoming arrival of the superhero family is closer than ever at Marvel.

Right after the opening, with the various voices from the MCU and the story, one last sentence can be heard. The first man to set foot on the moon is astronaut Neil Armstrong, saying his famous line, “one small step for man, one big leap for mankind.”

And the image shows a gold-colored spacecraft crossing space, something fans believe is the “debut” of the Fantastic Four.

This is not the first possible reference to the core family in a Marvel series. For example, in WandaVision, there was dialogue quoting astronauts working for S.W.O.R.D., who some fans believe to be Reed Richards, Ben Grimm and Johnny, and Sue Storm.

The Harley Quinn actress explained a rather bizarre story involving the wrestler, something even he himself didn’t know, and that she was in doubt whether to tell him or not. In the end, this must have been cause for a lot of laughter on the set.

In a Jimmy Kimmel Live show appearance , Robbie explained that she had a relationship with a huge John Cena fan, who used to have a life-size, cardboard picture of him in his bedroom.

“I was with a guy who was obsessed with John Cena, so much so that he dressed as John Cena for his 21st birthday and had a cardboard cutout of John Cena in his bedroom. So I slept in a room for two years with a life-sized cardboard cutout of John in the room!”

According to Robbie, she was in doubt whether to tell the story to the wrestler when she started working with him on James Gunn‘s film.

“I’m just gonna keep that to myself, I’m not going to tell him, that would be a weird way to start our working relationship and friendship, and then five seconds into meeting him I was like ‘I used to sleep in a room with a life-sized cutout of you!’,'” she said.

Disney’s Encanto Has Received its First Teaser Trailer

Encanto marks Disney’s 60th animated film, and this new adventure will even feature music written by Lin-Manuel Miranda!

Disney has unveiled the first trailer for its new animated film, a musical that will feature music composed by Lin-Manuel Miranda, who wrote songs for Moana and Hamilton. This marks the studio’s 60th animated movie and will include the incredible talent of Stephanie Beatriz, who can be seen in In the Heights.

Encanto takes place in Colombia and was directed by Zootopia directors Byron Howard and Jared Bush, alongside Charise Castro Smith. This film has a soundtrack entirely written by Miranda.

The film follows the Madrigal family, who live hidden in the Colombian mountains in a magical house and place called Encanto. The magic of the place blesses each child with a unique talent – from super strength to the power to heal – to all but one, Mirabel (the character played by Beatriz).

With two more seasons confirmed by Amazon, Invincible was obviously one of the main subjects discussed by Robert Kirkman at San Diego Comic-Con 2021.

Answering questions from fans, the comic book writer said that the next years of the animation should follow the same model as the debut season, changing and updating some points of the comic and creating some novel plots.

“There are a lot of things along the way that I really want to improve and change,” said Kirkman, who used two of the main battles from the first year as examples.

“Even the things that we directly adapt will be adjusted and hopefully improved in some interesting way. I’m involved in the show, and I like new ideas, and so I’m hoping that we’ll have some new storylines here and there that we’re able to weave in that are completely original to the show.”

The main example of these changes from comic book to animation came when the comic book writer was asked about the role of Amber, the title hero’s love interest, in the coming years.

Agreeing that the screen version is better than the one on the pages, Kirkman stated that Amber “will continue to have a big role in the future. Does that mean the story of the comic will be changing? In some ways absolutely! We’ll just see what that means when seasons two and three come out.”

Tearing up compliments for the TV counterpart of the character, he also praised the work of Zazie Beetz (Atlanta), who voices Amber in the original dub.

Invincible follows Mark Grayson, a teenager who discovers he has superpowers equal to his father’s, the greatest superhero on the planet. As a result, he must deal with the responsibility of inheriting his father’s role and thus protecting the entire world. Written by Robert Kirkman, creator of The Walking Dead, the comic lasted 144 issues and stood out among hero publications in the 2000s.

Invincible is now streaming on Amazon Prime Video, with the series already green-lighted for two more seasons. The Walking Dead premieres on August 22 on AMC.
