Willie Nelson is one of the most talented musicians in the world – and not just in the world of country music. Nelson’s talents transcend the genre and go far beyond music.

Willie Nelson was born in Texas in 1933. Nelson is recognized as part of the ‘outlaw country,’ a critical subgenre in the U.S., that escaped the profiles imposed by the paradigms of the Nashville record companies — the heart of the country in the U.S.

The albums Shotgun Willie (1973), Red Headed Stranger (1975), and Stardust (1979) turned Nelson into one of the most recognized artists in country music. In addition to developing a long musical career, Nelson has performed in over thirty films, co-written several books, and is a renowned activist.

At 88 years old, and with more than 70 albums, the singer is still active. A Beautiful Time is due out April 29 through Legacy Recordings to celebrate his 89th birthday that same day.
