Sixty-two years ago, on January 29, 1959, one of Disney’s most expensive animations of the 1950s, Sleeping Beauty, was released. The film was the last fairy tale Walt Disney starred in, costing about $6 million, and generated rave reviews from film experts.

The production is even on the list of the 25 greatest musicals in cinema and also features Maleficent as one of the 100 greatest villains in the world.
