Rurouni Kenshin – POP UP PARADE Makoto Shishio (Good Smile Company)

Good Smile Company presents the POP UP PARADE figure of Makoto Shishio from Rurouni Kenshin (Samurai X).

Shishio Makoto is one of the main antagonists of Rurouni Kenshin, or Samurai X. Although he was initially portrayed as a villain, his ideals coupled with his unique charisma made the character one of the most beloved by the general public.

His first appearance was during the beginning of the Kyoto arc. He was initially presented as a revolutionary rebel, leader of a group of assassins who wish to seize all political power in Japan. Despite carrying philosophies opposed to Kenshin‘s, Shishio does not consider him a mortal enemy. However, he hopes to prove his point by overthrowing the corrupt rulers and establishing himself as the fittest and strongest leader.

Makoto has been recreated by Good Smile Company in figure form in a firm pose with crossed arms and harsh glare on his face.

His gaze is usually severe and fixed, marked by his deep, red eyes that contrast with his mysterious, enigmatic smile (as if he is always thinking of something important).

Due to the burns he has suffered in the past, he has very sensitive skin, which he usually covers with bandages to hide his wounds and physical imperfections, giving him an Egyptian mummy-like look. He wears an inconspicuous purple kimono, sometimes accompanied by his dark gloves, usually worn in combat.
