WHAT IF... Creators Talk About Chadwick Boseman's Latest Work

This August marks the first anniversary of Chadwick Boseman‘s death, Marvel’s eternal Black Panther, who will be in the series What If…?

In his last work to be released, Boseman brought King T’Challa of Wakanda back to life, but this time in alternate versions of the character, where he becomes the leader of the Guardians of the Galaxy.

Series producers AC Bradley and Bryan Andrews spoke to The Hollywood Reporter regarding Boseman’s work on the series, where he voiced his most famous character for the last time.

Chadwick Boseman understood the importance of Black Panther. He understood how important it is that young people see a Black man standing shoulder to shoulder with Captain America and Thor Odinson so that they know a Black man saves the world just the same as anyone else.,” Bradley said.

“He came in to record, and I joked that he didn’t bring his A-game; he brought every damn sport there is. He made sure that this was going to be the episode that shined, but we did not realize why. And the world is a little sadder for it,” he further stated.

The producer said that in the last recordings, via Zoom, everyone had the opportunity to thank the actor for his work and praise his performance a few months before his death.
