It's official: Obi-Wan Kenobi got his own TV series on Disney+. And to celebrate, Funko is releasing a new wave of
Obi-Wan Kenobi Funko Pops! - Wave 1.
It feels like yesterday we were bidding a tearful farewell to Ewan McGregor's Obi-Wan Kenobi in
Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith.
But now, 17 years later, McGregor is returning to the role that made him a global superstar. In the highly anticipated series
Obi-Wan Kenobi, which premiered on Disney+ on May 27, McGregor will once again don the robes of the venerable Jedi Master.
For fans of the Star Wars saga, this is a momentous occasion. And for those of us who have been waiting patiently for Obi-Wan's return, it's about damn time.

Obi-Wan Kenobi is a legendary Jedi Master who served the Republic for over sixty years.
A brilliant tactician and fighter, he was instrumental in the defeat of the Sith during the Clone Wars.
In his later years, he took on a young Padawan named Anakin Skywalker, who would go on to become one of the most powerful Jedi in history.
However, Obi-Wan's greatest contribution to the galaxy may have been his role in training Luke Skywalker, the man who would eventually bring balance to the Force.
Though he passed away many years ago, Obi-Wan's wisdom and courage continue to inspire new generations of Jedi Knights.
When we got to know Obi-Wan Kenobi in
Star Wars: A New Hope, we knew that he must have been quite formidable in his younger days, but we didn't find out until the prequel trilogy that he was both competent and dashing!
Those who watched
Star Wars: The Phantom Menace met Obi-Wan Kenobi (Ewan McGregor) when he was still a young Padawan of Master Qui-Gon Jinn (Liam Neeson).
It was Jinn who trained not only Obi-Wan but also who felt the power of the Force in Anakin Skywalker (Hayden Christensen) when the latter was still a child.
He was also the one who, close to his death, declared that Kenobi was ready and asked him to train Anakin as if he were a member of the Jedi Order.
He will be remembered as one of the greatest heroes of the Rebel Alliance, and his selfless sacrifice will never be forgotten.
