Responsible for giving Billy Batson (Asher Angel/Zachary Levi) the powers that turned him into a superhero, the Wizard will return to the big screen in Shazam! Fury of the Gods. New behind-the-scenes footage shows Djimon Hounsou back on the set, alongside Jovan Armand, Ian Chen, and Grace Fulton.
The images hint that the Wizard is expected to guide the Shazam Family on a kind of journey, which will likely involve riding mystical animals.

Originally, Shazam! Fury of the Gods was scheduled to come out on April 1, 2022, exactly two years apart from the first film’s release.
Due to the coronavirus pandemic, all recording has been postponed, and the movie is scheduled for June 2, 2023.
Written by Henry Gayden, Shazam! Fury of the Gods will feature the return of the entire original cast, including Asher Angel, Zachary Levi, Jack Dylan Grazer, Faithe Herman, Ian Chen, Jovan Armand, and Adam Brody, except Michelle Borth, the former adult Mary, who is being replaced by Grace Fulton in the sequel.
The franchise will also welcome back Rachel Zegler and Lucy Liu, who will play the antagonist Kalypso, sister of Hespera – a character played by Helen Mirren.
