The iconic 90’s Spider-Man: The Animated Series is coming to life with this new Funko POP! Marvel: Animated Spider-Man – Madame Web Funko Pop! Vinyl Figure – Target Exclusive!

Madame Webb is actually Cassandra Webb, a woman born in Oregon who has faced a significant problem since birth: she is blind. She also suffers from a neurological condition called myasthenia gravis, an autoimmune disease that affects nerve and muscle communication.

However, the condition caused her to become a mutant with extraordinary psychic powers, to the point of predicting the future.

For his wife to survive, her husband, Jonathan, built a life support system, basically consisting of a series of tubes coming out of Cassandra’s body. The spiderweb-shaped equipment gave her her affectionate name in Marvel comics.

Madame Web first appeared in The Amazing Spider-Man #210 when Spider-Man sought her services to find a kidnapped person.

After a couple of appearances, in her final moments of life, Cassandra transferred her powers to Julia Carpenter, initially known as the second Spider-Woman, later as the second Arachne, and then as the second Madame Web.

According to some rumors, Sony is developing a film of Madam Web, one of the most mysterious and most powerful characters in the world surrounding the friendly neighborhood.

Sony has reportedly hired screenwriters Matt Sazama and Burk Sharpless, the same guys who wrote the Morbius movie, to handle the screenplay for Madam Web. In addition, Avi Arad and Matt Tolmach are expected to produce the film.

Madame Web’s alter ego would be Julia Carpenter, formerly Spider-Woman. For now, no casting has been hired.
